"You can't pleece everybody; and you can't keep rideen into the sunset"

OK, so this is a bit tongue in cheek.  But what has happened to English pronunciation? Have people abandoned differentiating the S from the Z sounds?  And when has -ing become -een?  "Pleasing" is pronounced with a Z sound, and the final -ing is peculiar to English; is a short sound, akin to "in" and the final g is NOT pronounced.  Newt Gingrich is famous for ending such -ing words as if they were written as -een.  PLEECE, Mr. Former Speaker: "going off the fiscal cliff" can't sound like "go-een off the fiscal cliff."

Commercial: "Zero, zero, zero" pronounced as "CEERO, CEERO, CEERO."  Yech!

Overhead: "The patient was placed in supine POCITION."  OMG - the word position has the Z sound for the middle S.
